    Vista is a joke

    Just played with my friends new laptop, came with vista home premium installed. What a joke piece of shit OS. The PC came with 1 GB of ram and when everything is loaded to desktop there is <50 mb left of physical memory!!! It is the happiest prettiest slow ass hog GUI I've ever seen. That Superfetch USB drive thing is useless, all it does is cache files from your HD, i didn't notice any performance increase and it didn't free up memory. Total garbage and its not even 64 bit lol! Everything is just switched around and has different names than XP.

    Do not buy it and anyone who has it should put XP PRO 32/64 bit on their PC's. I say "see" you later "Vista". LOL ROFL LOL NOOB FAG LOL = VISTA!!!

    ***EDIT: and another thing, Vista comes with IPv6 installed and active on your network adapters, it even assigns itself a "local" address. Just fucking great, now the hackers can use a whole different protocol stack to access your PC, Wonderful, Glorious, Supercalifragilistic-Expiali-Fucking-dotious!!!!

      It's my understanding that vista will be the only windows dx-10 os for a while though. Of course there is only one dx-10 gpu at the current time. And...I doubt we'll see any dx-10 games though until the xp version is ready either.

      I personally don't even use the majority of my XP Pro's potential...I really don't care if I ever upgrade to vista. I can do without the eye candy, especially at the cost of physical memory.

        Yes, it is crap. I have one customer who has issues with it all the time. Always thinks it's his ftp, or the server. Then he hops on his sister's PC running xp-pro and has absolutely no issues. It is a bad OS, hands down.

        Granted, several people said the same thing about xp when it came out, but 90&#37; of that was pure FUD. The bad about Vista you hear is not FUD, it is fact (yes, I have tried it too).

            Jenkies! I think maybe we've solved teh mystery of why UT3 hasn't come out yet! Maybe they are waiting for XP PRO SP3 w/DX10? I sure as hell would not try and run it on vista.
            OMFG! I hate Vista! I'm not a racist, or a bigot but I HATE Vista!

            Ram hog, IPv6, Total marketing ploy... OMG! I'm downloading FC6 right now, never have i yearned for linux so much in my life!

              DX10 will never be implemented into any version of XP. Micro$haft has stated that numerous times.

                  They own the DX-10 patent. They can do anything they want. Placing it only on Vista is one way of trying to increase sales on one side, and on another it is actually technically impossible to implement it into the XP kernal without totally breaking XP. There have been numerous discussions about this very topic on /. by software and hardware engineers.

                            downgraded to xp pro, no wireless net driverers. Magically works with vista of course. No sign of drivers being written for xp... hmm... yeeeah.
