Be advised that most tests show a minimal increase in fps between a core2duo and it's sister quad. Unless the application being run is written to use the other 2 cores they basically just run background applications.
Video editing software that is written to use quad cores can take advantage of the multi core arrangement and increase speeds up to 33%.
That being said, I have not seen a definitive answer from Epic regarding the use of quads. The intro video for the demo is for a core2duo, and I think if that is all it will take advantage of. A faster core2duo will prove to be more usefull playing the game than a quad with 2 cores reading email....

Apparently I was uniformed..I found this quote in the UT3 forum:
"Tim Sweeney: You can play UT3 at any detail level on any machine; the dependent variable is the frame rate! If you have a fast GPU (and thus aren't GPU-bound), then you'll notice significant performance gains going from a single-core PC to a dual-core PC, and incremental improvements in going to quad-core, at a constant clock rate."
Soooo.. we'll see what really happens when the full version witth full res textures and the amount of physx related stuff is finalized. As long as I can run 85 fps to match my refreshrate I'm a happy man.
