  • Mobo / memory

Well.. I bought a new stick of memory for the ol' comp to help boost everything on my system for UT3/UE3. I put the stick in and it worked great. Two days later I was trying to connect to a server to play and the whole system locked up. Well, it keeps doing it. I was thinking a bad stick of memory. To me that is not the case. I took the new stick out and left the old in and it still does it. I was messing around with the board to make sure all connections were good and I noticed that the memory ports (or whatever they are called) felt loose. So now when it starts up and I don't get a monitor signal and can go in the case, touch the memory sticks and it starts up fine.

I may be able to use the comp from anywhere around 10 mins. to 6 hrs. all depending on if it looses connection again.

    Any ideas on a fix?

    Thanks in advance!

Make sure your motherboard is setting the right voltage for the RAM.

Connection on the memory mount is broken. Will have to RMA the board to the manufacturer to fix it or get a new MB.
