Dead in the water

Well, its official. My new system is dead. This is the third PSU ive tried and it didn't work either. Safe to say its not the PSU anymore. My mb/cpu is eating them. They all end up with their -5v lead failing after being connected and powered on. I'm past the newegg return date. W T F.

You know I had a pc build kick my ass once and it turned out the reset switch was shorted in the closed position. It wouldn't do anything because it thought it was in a constant state of reset.

Did you try unplugging all the switches on the mobo and jumping the start switch contacts manually?

you told me about that, what i did was unplug the reset switch altogether. Nada. Unless the power switch is bad somehow i dunno. it turns on tho, just doesn't boot or beep or anything. PSU tests bad AGAIN. Somehow this CPU/board is eating PSU's. I don't know.

Update: Bought new MSI K9A2 platinum mainboard. Will RMA this Asus turd back to Asus for an exchange an prolly build a quad fire for no reason, sometime in the future maybe.

MSI board installed and working, system seems normal, components working, fear replaced by cautious optimism
