Gen sent this to me for an illustration of tearing. This is what happened to him when he first put his new rig together,v-sync helped but still had to make some other changes to cap his fps.

I've seen worse in older games (had to disable crossfire), nothing like that in 2k4.

      Was this on-line or off-line?

Not sure, just asked him to send it again to show Eye.Really fps higher than refresh rate of monitor is wasted, this was just to show how bad it can get.lol I believe as long as you don't drop under the refresh rate or it doesn't stay there your doing fine.

300 fps in 2k4 lol. yeah i do believe there is such a thing as matching the hardware to the software. 2k4 might not be able to handle his system. 300 fps tho wow.

I've hit higher than that, that's why I asked if it was off-line or not.

Give the new rig a run at 2k4, I think you'll be surprised.

Gen was complaining about the tearing on that map 1 morning when we were playing. After that we both started reading up on it and v-sync.I'm not sure when he took that screenie but he sent it to show me how bad it got on his new rig. That map seemed to be the extreme for tearing.Never liked that map anyway.lol Everyone wants an extreme frame rate but from what I've read it really does no good if it's beyond the monitors capabilities.I want a new monitor when I do upgrade but I'm not willing to give up my refresh rate of 100 on this old crt.I hoping the price will come down on the high end monitors by the time I rebuild and they fix all those mb issues.lol Asus you suck! hehe

Next generation lcd monitors are going to be led back-lit and have refresh rates of 120 hz. (just like the newer HD tv's)

I couldn't wait that long for a new build tho'.

I haven't had any problems with this MSI board, 'course I didn't have any problems with the Asus board I put in my nephews pc either.

Card worked fine for OT,No matter what I did the fps were 1/2 of what I get on my 7600gt.There had to be a conflict with something on my machine,I've always had nvidia & amd.Slap the card in update drivers and set to performance, done deal.

I had issues on this pc once when my ATI card died and I had to grab an emergency Nvidia 5200 from the local shop. I had to completely remove ALL traces of the ATI software to get the 5200 to work right, then when I switched back to the current 9800 AIW it was a nightmare getting all the Nvidia stuff out before this card worked properly.

I bet you just missed a file or two somewhere freak, that 1900 should have worked great on your rig. It does say alot about owner loyalty though..switch brands and pay the price.
