I wouldn't get anything less than a GTX 260 equivalent(unless you like running low detail all the time)... but perhaps the rest of your PC isn't very updated/powerful either, and therefore may not provide sufficient power to feed a bigger card like the GTX 260.

If you must shoot low(~$100), then I'd just get a solid HTPC card for like $50, such as the AMD 6450... because sub $100 cards are all fairly weak, so you'll have something to hold you over until you can save a little more to afford a real card.

    Asus 6450 - $42.99 USD
    Asus 6670 - $92.99 USD

    Sorry, I can't recommend nVidia... =p

For around $120.00, you can get a gtx550 Ti Fermi 1gg ddr5. Cheap card but runs great, more powerful than 2 GTX260's and uses less power per reviewers. Or I will say this, I love the card. Tiger sells em. It's hard to find a good card below $100 though. I had bought my daughter 5570 for her PC(she has a 350 watt PS) which will run Skyrim and such great for her but now they are all over $150. I paid like $70 for it a few months back

That's about less than half truthful, but nice try!

Absolutely the truth, and I only have one of them! :S It's definitely overkill for older gen games like UT2004 & Far Cry, and gets a steady 35FPS avg in SC2 max settings @ 1440x900.

As I stated, per reviewers, people that already owned the cards. We are talking about a quality card on the cheap. But you are right per the specs below, it uses almost half the power and runs at a higher resolution.

Well too honest, both cards are very nice and will definitely keep both in mind, but it really comes down to the price. I am a cheap ass when it come with money and will search every possible store to get the best price.

I got a "repaired" but working Sapphire ati hd2600xt card laying around if ya want it. The stock fan went out on it and I replaced it with an after market fan. $9 to save a $125 card, heck yeah! If ya want it, its yours for free, just pay shipping. Lemme know.
