I should know this but i'm still a might confused as to what exactly the "Ras to Cas" settings do in bios. i know its something to do with latency. is there an ideal setting or is it board/chip dependant?

I have a matched corsair value set ddr 400 1gb. should i futz with the settings or leave it on auto? I am not overclocking anything.

    pointers?

Leave it on auto, unless you are going to over-clock. Then you must do much more.

I agree..the auto setting will let the memory determine the latency, if you are using corsair it will set itself accordingly.

Corsair has the ram man which will answer all those questions. Some are already posted.
