For air rox, once the opponent has left the ground, its all about predicting where they will be in the future based on their current aerial trajectory, and then sending the rocket to intercept them.
If you watch any of my air rox vids, set the playback speed of the video to 0.25x and watch my aiming reticule. Once the opponent is in the air, I no longer keep my cursor on them, but try and predict as quickly as I can where they will be, and then the rox is fired. You have to shoot the rocket ahead of them, not where they currently are. It's similar to twitch LG shots, except you have to move the cursor far past them before firing.
