  • New ATI drivers released

Just thought I'd give a heads up to those that use Radeon cards, new drivers have been released and can be found at the following link.

    http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Now, I get to go install new drivers...

*Edit: I forgot to add sarcasm.... ..fixed*

I saw those drivers yesterday and got excited....only to find that they are the same drivers the released earlier to replace the ones shipped with my card.

I need better drivers...I wish they would get thier poop in a group. This may very well be the last ATI card I purchase if things aren't corrected soon. I'm sure it's all AMD's fault though.

I did manage to get 3DMark 2006 to run..it seems there is a conflict will a .dll file that needs to be addressed before the 2900 will load correctly.

AMD = Good, you knew better than to buy a card hot off the presses, theres always something that needs to be addressed lol. Just wait till you have to upgrade to vista.

I dunno Min, this driver is working for me, so far. No problems with the artifacts or the system lock ups, so far. ('course I've only been using it for a couple of hours now).

I downloaded the whole Catalyst 7.5 file instead of the driver only file, that may make a difference.

Actually I believe vista IS my problem. ATI is so hell bent on perfecting the vista driver that the XP guys are not in the spotlight anymore. My issue may not be my driver, but my OS.

I shouldn't make it sound like it's really all that bad, my 3D rendering is superb, I have a few minor glitches in 2D and only with certain html coding it seems. I know AMD is great...I just wanted to see if you were actually reading my posts Eye.

And yes, I did know the risks of buying the new card. I will survive....

Once again, ATI has released a new driver; Catalyst 7.6 is now available. Hopefully, they have found a way to keep the Vista component from screwing with XP.

I updated to 7.6 the day it came out, but I'm still experiencing the same issues. I'm beginning to wonder if it's gpu driver related or maybe something else....

It's hard to say, v7.5 seemed to fix my problems - for a while, then I started having problems. Then they went away again??? I'm wondering if Norton Internet Security updates are screwing with my system again, or if it's Microsoft's updates.

                        ....hmmm

I'm not sure about the driver issue yet, but it looks like the *Edit* function doesn't function.

                            Triple post FTW!
