Since you have installed Win 8, I would recommend a free little program called Classic Shell so you can bypass the Metro screen and have your start button back as well as better navigation.

Thanks Cuz. I know you mentioned it a while back but I forgot the name of it. Good to have the old start button back so you can turn the damned thing off without going through 10 steps!
